Soundtoys Devil-loc Deluxe - Drums, Automation Effects & Master Bus
The Devil-loc works great on bringing edge and grit to the drums bus that pull them forward while making them bigger. Automation effects on the master channel create a unique bridge in the song. When Devil-loc is used on the Master bus, it open the mix and tames some of the harsh peaks.
The goal here was to create space, echos, delay, etc to make the lead hook vocal stand out and become more exciting.

5 Mixing Tools Every Rapper Needs to Know - Fabfilter ProQ2, P&M Electro-optical, Redlight Distortion, TSAR-1R, Analog Delay.
Last year I responded to a Facebook post that was arguing the point of mixing at low levels is beneficial. My argument was that I mix loudly. But, I actually failed to explain my point and realized I missed the point of the whole argument. In reality, I do mix at low levels. Or some would say at medium levels because I do like it where I can hear. What I like to do is switch my mix to my studio monitors then to a mono mixcube and mix inside Studio One with the Mono button enabled. I turn up the volume to where I can hear effectively, get my mix about where I want it, the crank the Gain knob on the Slate Digital FG-X, and I make that mix loud as a I can get it while sounding badass. Once the mix gets louder I then turn down the volume on my speakers. That is how I mix LOUD at low volume levels.
