In conversation with a friend:
"I'm finding my true inner self. It's a journey" I said.
How are you finding "your true inner self"? My friend responded.
"It started with being completely honest with myself and where I am financially, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and all the above. I took an inventory of where I am versus where I want to be. In the words of Gary Vaynerchuk, I reverse engineered. Which means, I imagined what I want to do and then worked the steps backwards of what I need to do to get there. Of course, that is just the beginning. I also began expressing myself, like how I feel, how I felt and what I'm thinking. Expressing myself allows me to understand who I am and how I feel. My opinion matters. I have influence. People may not understand me always, but they do respect those that are real. What I go through can impact others and make a difference. I learned I seek the approval from others way too much and this has crippled me and has caused me to try to be someone I am really not. I am trying to be a better version of who I am!
